We are Craig, Jill, Ellie & George Smith.
Craig’s job as a professional rugby player originally brought us over to France several years ago in 2008. Starting off in Paris for 2 years, we then made a move down to the South of France and never looked back. We settled on the outskirts of Pouillon in the Landes and felt right at home from the outset, you could say it was love at first sight.
Trying to find a family home and business is no small feat but we knew as soon as we saw Bidas that it was the one for us. We spent the best part of 2012 and early 2013 working with a team of artisans to renovate the old farmhouse into a home from home holiday gîte, with a few luxuries thrown in there. We were keen to keep the style and ambiance of the building so it was important that we had a team of people who shared our vision and passion for this project. With their input on the Landaise style we have created an idyllic retreat for that perfect getaway.
We are both native English speakers with fluent French (some Spanish, Italian and Norwegian also possible!) and are happy to share our knowledge on the area to advise on all must-do’s and must-see’s! We know you will love it as much as us and look forward to welcoming you to Maison Bidas in the future.
